Lawpreneurz Rupal Shah

Ms. Rupal Shah graduated with B.L.S.LL.B from Government Law College, Mumbai. After which she pursued her Masters (LL.M.) in Constitutional and Administrative Law from Symbiosis Law School, Pune, where she secured 1st position in her specialization group while was placed 2ndin the university.

Ms. Rupal is currently an in house counsel (corporate legal team) for Godrej Industries Limited and its associated companies. She has also been associated with Agama Law Associate and Cleartrip Private Limited. As part of her professional journey, she is involved in drafting, reviewing and finalizing documents pertaining to various subject matters, managing legal disputes, notices and dealing with labelling approvals for the consumer goods.

She has been associated as a visiting faculty at with G.J.Advani College of Law, Bandra (National College, Bandra); New Law College, Matunga (Ruparel College, Matunga and as an external at NMIMS Law School. In her academic journey she has taught subjects / topics ranging from Jurisprudence, Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, Legal Language, Public International Law, Contract Act, Humanitarian Law and Transfer of Property. She has also judged various competitions held at intra /state / inter level.

She has published research papers on the following topics:

  • SEBI disgorgement order (co- author)- published in Manupatra;
  • FDI in Civil Aviation (co- author)- published in Taxman; and
  • Analysis and credibility of the Anti-Superstitious Bill, 2013 passed in Maharashtra - published in Manupatra.

In capacity of legal intern, she has worked with D.M. Harish and Company, Adv. Gautam Patel (currently judge of Bombay High Court); Impact Law Ventures and Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission. She has also been a Judicial Clerk at High Court of Bombay under Justice Roshan Dalvi.

Ms. Rupal Shah is perpetually enthusiastic towards society needs and strives for the betterment of the society. She was associated as a volunteer with Teach for India, Public Concern for Governance Trust, National Association for Blind amongst others and she continuously extends her support to these organizations as and when required. Currently, she is associated with Tarun Mitra Mandal, where she provides free legal assistance to the layman and general public at large.
